New J/30 Class Leaders Elected

The J/30 Class Association has new co-presidents who were elected at the Board of Governors meeting held 11 September 2014 at Cedar Point YC.  Congratulations to Dan Mather from Oswego, New York – owner of Crusader (Hull #530) and Dave Erwin from Destrehan, Louisiana – co-owner of Zephyr V2.0 (Hull #87).  Dan and Dave will succeed Bill Kneller who has been the class co-president since 2009, and president since 2013.

2014 J/30 North American Registration is Open


The 2014 J/30 North American Championship is being hosted by Cedar Point YC – Westport, CT.  This event will be held with measurement on Thursday 11 September and three days of racing Friday 12 September through Sunday 14 September.  The link to the NA website is j30.us/na2014.

The Notice of Race has additional information attached at the end with directions, information about the venue and lodging.  Go to the website and register now.  Payment won’t be due until 22 August.

Blue Meanie Wins
2013 J/30 North American Championship

Blue Meanie skippered by Steve Buzbee and the crew from Raritan YC captured the 2013 J/30 North American Championship.  The half hull trophy was presented at the Barrington YC after the final race on Sunday 28 July.  This was a noteworthy accomplishment for their second J/30 NA win with close competition.  The second place finish was Evelyn skippered by Luke Buxton from Salem, MA.  Charlie Stoddard skippered Falcon to a third place finish in his home waters.  See full results at this link.
